The essentials
- Jacket: abrasion-resistant material (leather or textile) with CE armour at elbows, shoulders, and back.
- Gloves: your hands hit the ground first; look for knuckle protection and a secure cuff.
- Trousers: proper riding jeans or textile trousers with knee armour, not regular denim.
- Boots: over-the-ankle with reinforced toe and heel.
Fit and ventilation matter: gear you find comfortable is gear you'll actually wear.
